Why Study Overseas?

American business firms need the services of university graduates who have gained not only the communications, analytical, and technical skills traditionally associated with higher education, but also global literacy -- an understanding of how the world works economically and politically and the ability to communicate across cultures and do business across national borders. International business knowledge, multi-cultural understanding, and language skills are central elements of global literacy. The Center for International Business Studies is committed to achieving global literacy for all students in Mays Business School.

Former Student Speaks Out!

"I'm a former student that participated in an exchange program at Monterrey Tech for the 2002-2003 school year. I just wanted to let you know that 2 years later, I am still reaping the benefits of that abroad experience. I was offered a position at Bank of America to work on a Latin American project earlier this year. My team is building computer infrastructure in Mexico and South America. I've been able to leverage my past experience in Latin America to help coach my team on the relationship between culture and business in Latin America. My education and my experience abroad have given me an edge on peers. Normally they do not allow new associates to work internationally, but they considered me because I studied/interned abroad." -- Gregory Franklin
