International Mentors Program |

International Business Mentors Programs is a key element of the International Business Career Counseling initiative of the Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER). The International Business (IB) Mentors are Mays Business School professors who teach IB courses or serve on the CIBER Advisory Council, or both. The Mentors routinely teach and/or conduct research in IB. They also, as a group, interact with the Advisory Council, visiting international scholars, and visiting executives to help them stay abreast of IB education, internship and career opportunities available to students. In recognition of the fact that information technology has revolutionized the way students look for information (i.e. turning first to the web) the CIBER has introduced a new email list serve, GlobalNet, for students interested in international opportunities and activities such as grants, scholarships, visiting speakers, and study abroad opportunities. Students can also use the GlobalNet site to interface with the International Business Mentors and find answers to their questions about IB courses, curriculum, and careers. GlobalNet allows Mentors to offer on-line counseling to students via email as well as face-to-face mentoring. |
