On-Campus Programs

One of the greatest challenges a U.S. business will face today is conducting business affairs with people of different cultures and languages. The Center for International Business Studies is responding to this challenge by working with the Department of Hispanic Studies, the Department of European and Classical Languages and Cultures, and the Arabic and Asian Language Office in the development of credit and non-credit language courses and international commerce and culture courses for students, faculty, and community members.

Conversation Training

Conversation Partners - Students can become a Conversation Partner for international students at the English Language Institute (ELI). The time commitment is minimal: 1 hour per week to meet and talk about literally anything the students' desire - food, customs, music, movies, and so on - in a casual environment. For more info, email Ginny West or call 845-7622.

International Exchange Partners - Coordinated in the Study Abroad Office, the International Exchange Partners Program provides an opportunity for Texas A&M students to interact with incoming international exchange students. If you are willing to commit to e-mailing with an exchange student before s/he arrives, helping the new student get settled in and doing fun social activities with the student, please contact Study Abroad in the Study Abroad Program Office or call 845-0544.
