Faculty and Doctoral International Programs
Faculty and Doctoral International Programs
International business education is a journey, not a destination. The Center for International Business Studies (CIBS) is committed to this journey because the world has changed in a way that makes our continued progress along this path an integral and essential dimension of our business education and research mission. Our goal as a Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) is to instill a global vision in Texas A&M, regional, and U.S. faculty and doctoral students by providing the resources to develop international business research and teaching skills.
NATIONAL INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS RESOURCES
Administered by the U.S. Department of Education, the CIBER network links the manpower and technological needs of the United States business community with the international education, language training, and research capacities of universities across the country. The thirty-one Centers serve as regional and national resources to business people, students, and teachers at all levels. Building on the strengths of their faculty and staff, each CIBER organizes a variety of activities to advance the study and teaching of international business and to support applied research on United States competitiveness in the global marketplace. Examples of such activities are listed below:
- Creating faculty development and enrichment programs for business faculty from colleges and universities around the nation, such as low-cost study trips to Asia, Latin America, Western and Eastern Europe, and intensive 2-3 week workshops at host universities.
- Funding research projects, events and publications on issues of strategic national interest, such as international competitiveness issues.
